Are you ready to READ with Whoo's Reading?  Latimer's 3rd Annual Read-A-Thon fundraiser is in full swing!  The Read-A-Thon began on Thursday, February 1 and will end on Thursday, March 1.  There will be a morning assembly on February 16th where the teachers will perform a Reader’s Theatre skit for K-5 students. For the month of February, students will log their reading minutes on the Whooo's Reading website.  Just like our Walk-A-Thon, students will be able to ask for sponsors and the kids will raise money for our school.

June will be here before we know it and we want to make sure our first graduating class wraps up their Latimer experience in style! To make sure the end of their year is both fun and successful, we will need a team of dedicated parent volunteers to help plan, coordinate and facilitate a spring dance, the 8th grade field trip and the end-of-the-year 8th grade picnic.

Heart & Sole is Girls on the Run's life changing after school program for girls in middle school. Girls learn life skills such as healthy decision-making, teamwork, and confidence while training to complete a 5K! Several Moreland School District teachers have been awarded Innovation Grants through the Moreland Education Foundation (MEF) Small Grants Program. Over $8,000 in grant money was awarded to the four schools who applied and presented their idea at the December MEF Board Meeting.

We are thrilled to announce that the Lawrence Hall of Science will be coming to Latimer on December 15! They will host an interactive festival called "Build, Engineer and Invent!" for our K-5 students. We need 12 parent volunteers per shift to help run the stations throughout the day; parents will receive a mini-training prior to the students arriving on how to ensure your station is a success.
