6th Grade Social - August 10th

For students transitioning from 5th to 6th grade!

Thursday, August 10
2 P.M. - Latimer Media Center/Library
4250 Latimer Avenue, San Jose

Students will have the opportunity to meet both existing as well as incoming Latimer students! Members of Latimer’s 8th Grade Leadership team will lead the afternoon with activities and tips on how to make the elementary to middle school transition an easy one from a student’s perspective.

Kindergarten Screening - Thursday, August 10

At the group screenings, the Latimer Kindergarten Team will meet with groups of children to assess some of the social and academic skills expected of incoming Kindergarten students. Parents will meet with our principal, Nancy Cisler, and our assistant principal, Heather Scharer where they will have a chance to ask questions and get to know each other.

Healthy Food Choices During the School Day

Moreland School District staff takes seriously our role in helping to curb child obesity and diabetes. Our wonderful partnership with Sodexo provides healthy food choices for students each day through our breakfast and lunch programs. You may not be aware of the fact that school districts are required and monitored by the California Department of Education to not serve any food to students, during the school day, that do not meet the state and federal guidelines as healthy.
