🏫 Back-to-School Events for New and Returning Latimer Students
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Latimer School! We are excited to kick off the year with a series of events designed to welcome and support students and families as we begin a new year of learning. Below is a summary of key events for TK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and new middle school students. Please find the details and sign-up links for each event below.
🌟 TK Orientation
Date: Friday, August 8
Times: 9:00 AM or 11:30 AM
Location: Room 1
Who: TK students and at least one parent or guardian
Details: Meet the TK staff, explore the classroom, and learn about what to expect this year.

🍎 Kindergarten Kickoff
Date: Friday, August 8
Times: 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM
Location: Room 2 (Kinder Play Yard); Parent Meeting in the Library
Who: Incoming Kindergarten students and their families
Details: While children take part in a classroom screening, parents will attend a welcome and informational meeting with Principal Hilary Gill and Assistant Principal Larry Lopez.

📖 1st Grade Reading Assessments
Dates: Wednesday, August 6 and Friday, August 8
Times: By appointment
Location: Room 11 or Room 12
Who: Incoming 1st Grade students
Details: Each 20-minute assessment helps teachers get a head start on understanding your child's reading level. Parents may wait outside the classroom or near the front office during the session.

🧭 New Student & 6th Grade Orientation
Date: Friday, August 8
Times and details to be shared separately via email
Who: All incoming 6th graders and students new to Latimer Middle School (LMS)
Details: Meet your teachers, explore the campus, and learn what to expect in middle school life. Please check your email for a message from LMS with specific times and info.
