2026–2027 School Year
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Latimer School! We are excited to kick off the year with events designed to welcome students and families. Below you will find details and sign-up links for TK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and new Middle School students.
🌟 TK Orientation
Date: Wednesday, August 5, 2026
Times: 9:30 AM or 11:30 AM — you only need to attend one session
Location: Room 1
Who: TK students and at least one parent or guardian
Meet the TK teachers, visit the classroom, and learn what to expect for the year ahead.
🍎 Kindergarten Kickoff
Date: Friday, August 8, 2026
Times: 8:30 AM or 11:30 AM — you only need to attend one session
Location: Room 6 (Primary Quad); Parent meeting in the Library
Who: Incoming Kindergarten students and their families
Pickup: 9:15 AM (for 8:30 AM session) or 12:15 PM (for 11:30 AM session)
While your child takes part in a classroom screening activity, parents and guardians will meet with Principal Gill and Assistant Principal Parenti in the Library. Please complete the Kindergarten Questionnaire before your session.

📖 1st Grade Reading Assessments
Dates: Tuesday, August 4 and Thursday, August 6, 2026
Times: By appointment
Location: Room 11 or Room 12
Who: Incoming 1st Grade students
Each 20-minute appointment helps teachers learn your child’s reading level before school begins. If you are not available on these dates, do not worry — your child will be assessed once school starts. A parent or guardian should remain on campus during the assessment.

🧭 Middle School New Student Orientation
Date: Friday, August 7, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Students: Middle School Quad
Parents/Guardians: Library
Who: All incoming 6th graders and students new to Latimer Middle School
Students and parents will meet separately. Students will gather in the Middle School Quad to tour the campus, meet teachers and staff, and connect with new classmates. At the same time, parents and guardians will meet in the Library with Principal Gill and Assistant Principal Parenti.
Students can also purchase their PE uniform at orientation — bring cash or a check.
