Pennies for Patients
Latimer School is participating in “Pennies for Patients” drive this year! The drive will run from January 13th - January 31st. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s School & Youth Programs give students an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by collecting spare change to save lives. Students you will receive a collection box for you to collect dollars, checks, and loose change. All money must be turned in by January 31st. On a personal note, one of Latimer’s very own teachers, Mrs. Julie Reid, is a lymphoma cancer survivor. During her cancer fight, Mrs. Reid directly benefited from a medication which was funded in large part by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last week Mrs. Reid shared with her students and families that she was diagnosed with a relapse of Lymphoma. The Leukemia Lymphoma Society is incredibly near and dear to her heart, as LLS funds largely help research breakthrough therapies which helped control her cancer. She is living proof that these funds DO make a difference!
